Low-cost Technology for Evaluation, Assistance, and Rehabilitation

Most current motion capture systems and rehabilitation robots cost between $20,000 and $150,000, making them inaccessible to most patients with movement disorders. The goal of our work is to develop:

  1. Systems that are sufficiently quick, low-cost, and accurate to reliably assess movement impairments in the clinic and at home.
  2. Rehabilitation robots that are sufficiently low-cost, light-weight, and safe for home use.
